Chemical Peel

Glycolic Acid Peels are an alpha hydroxy acid or AHA. Glycolic Acid is derived from sugar cane and works as an exfoliant loosening the top layer of skin making room for the regrowth of new skin. Glycolic Acid has the smallest molecules of any of the AHA’s which enables excellent capability to penetrate the skin. Recent research has indicated that glycolic peels can help reduce superficial lines, wrinkles, acne, acne scars, lighten age and sun spots, help with rosacea as well as minimize pores and diminish blackheads. There is a mild tingling sensation during the peel.  Within 2 to 4 days after the procedure there may be some peeling or shedding of the skin looking as if it were a wind burn. The peel is done in a series of 6 to 8 depending on individual needs.  It is recommended that the peels are done once a week until desired results are achieved and then once every two months for upkeep.
